NOTICE Journal, Volume One by Wesley Verhoeve - A Reflection on Spring, Nostalgia, and Rebirth in Amsterdam
Amsterdam, October 1 — Wesley Verhoeve is excited to announce the release of NOTICE Journal, Volume One, a photo book about Amsterdam that follows his acclaimed, sold-out monograph, NOTICE.
This new work invites readers to explore beauty in often-overlooked places, using spring as a metaphor for personal rebirth after significant life changes.
This body of work was created in Amsterdam over three spring seasons, using black-and-white cinema film favored by Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese. The images were captured with a 1964 half-frame camera, intentionally framing two side-by-side photos to create diptychs that tell a brief, emotional story.
The book features thoughtful contributions from writer Caroline Cala Donofrio, who penned an essay, and celebrated chef and James Beard Award-winning writer Hetty Lui McKinnon, who provided a recipe. Both reflect on the themes of nostalgia and the hope embodied by springtime.
